Wireless and mobile

Remember when the European Union slashed mobile data rates? Check out Steve Litchfield's personal experience:But, come a few spare minutes, I thought I'd experiment and put the new tariff (£1 cap per day, £2/MB, up to 15MB) to the test. First 3G network

The first commercially available 3G network in the UK was Three (3) owned by Hutchinson Telecom (the founding owners of Orange UK). This new entrant is busy expanding both coverage and customer base. The Latest Mobile Phone Technology

3G - The Third Generation of mobile communication

What is 3rd Generation (3G) ?

We can now talk to each other face-to-face on our mobile terminals.
Using the latest 3G technology (available from Three, Orange and Vodafone - rest will follow soon), you can log onto the office network, surf the Internet, order and pay for goods, manage our investments on the stock markets, check the weather or find the nearest Italian restaurant. The list of potential uses for wireless communications in the future is endless. Access to them all will be from wherever you happen to find yourself at the time.
3rd Generation is the generic term used for the new generation of mobile communications systems. 3G systems provide enhanced services to those - such as voice, text and data. This includes Video conferencing and downloading Video clips such as Premiership Goals.
The vision for 3G was based on the previous generations 2G system of the GSM standard, but evolved, extended and enhanced to include an additional radio air interface, better suited for high speed and multimedia data services. This system enables users of current 2nd Generation GSM wireless networks to migrate easily to the new 3rd Generation services, with minimal disruption.

Nokia Mp3 Stereo or no.....

So beware before purchasing you mp3 phone...

NokiaThe Cabir Virus

Ever Heard of a virus called Cabir or Caribe??In November 2004 certain websites provided transfer tools for mobile ringtones, pictures and videos for series 60 phones. Many users downloaded these softwares not knowing that the phones were getting affected by virus which was rather deadly, named Cabir, a worm. This when installed tries to send its own components to any bluetooth device in range. This Virus forces the battery life to shorten because the Bluetooth Cannot be switched off.To prevent Cabir virus, keep Bluetooth profile 'Hidden', in case the cabir message file is received (caribe.sis), try aborting the installation, if the virus has entered the phone, install the following software in the phone www.f-secure.com/tools/f-cabir.sis which will then search and destroy the virus components

Nokia 3230 software flaws

The problem of software with Nokia 3230 has become extremely common. Finally Nokia provided its customers with imaging. The users can create their own set of ringtones and video playback, in a mid-priced ranged Nokia 3230. It is reported that apart from having a slow and useless software the Nokia 3230 also hangs whilst scrolling. The phone restarts while using FM radios and other multimedia functions. These reports are not yet attended by Nokia. May be in next century the prolem will get solved....
